LML-Vespa

The LML Vespa, or Stella, often known by different names in different countries, is a vintage scooter model manufactured by Lohia Machinery Limited (LML) in Kanpur, India.
In 1986, LML founded a partnership with the scooter manufacturer Piaggio through which the Italian company sold its Vespa PX to the Indian market. This model does not have an automatic lubrication system, therefore the oil for two-stroke engines had to be pre-mixed with gasoline. An improved version of this scooter was called LML Select 2. Production of LML NV and LML Select 2 ended in 2004. LML filed for bankruptcy on June 2, 2017.
As of March 2020, the factory was completely dismantled, spare parts, machinery and scooters scrapped, tooling partially sold to a SIP store in Germany.
