Standard Motor Corporation (SMC for short) is a Taiwanese manufacturer of scooters, quads and all-terrain vehicles. Since 1994 they have been an importer for the German manufacturer Kreidler brand.
Since 2000 they started to build their own vehicles for the American market.
In 2004 SMC opened their new factory in Kangtien.
They became known by exporting scooters from Taiwan to the German market under the brand name "REX". This made SMC the second largest importer of scooters in Germany.
The manufacturer SMC is also primarily known for its 170 and 250 class sport quads, which are both reliable and easy to tune entry level vehicles. They are imported and sold by various importers under different labels.
